Panic Away – My Story
I was always a nervous child, but my parents always believed that this would go away as I grew older and got over my shyness. However, this did not change as I grew older, and well into my teenage years and my twenties I was still a nervous wreck. I have always wondered whether my life could have turned out differently if I had been diagnosed earlier and Panic Away was an option, but that is now in the past. All I can do now is make the most of the opportunity that has been handed over to me to live the rest of my life to the fullest, thanks to Panic Away, and Barry McDonagh.
My problem never got to the point of medical intervention until the time I had what I thought was a heart attack at the age of twenty-five. I was rushed to the hospital, and after a number of tests and a lot of tension, I was told that I suffered from Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Needless to say, as soon as I took up the Panic Away program, my disorder quickly dissipated, and within no time, I was able to take life by the horns and achieve my dreams.
What is Panic Away?
Before I go on, let me give you a brief introduction to Panic Away:
- Panic Away is a program that seeks to teach you a natural technique that you can use to get rid of anxiety disorder and panic attacks.
- The technique was developed by Barry McDonagh, who also suffered from GAD and frequent panic attacks, who discovered that the way to deal with anxiety disorders was to reevaluate the way anxiety is treated.
- The Panic Away technique does not use NLP or hypnosis; neither does it use outdated techniques such as deep breathing positive affirmations.

However, it took awhile before I came across Panic Away. While it was a relief to know that it was a condition and not a flaw in my personality, this did not increase my confidence, and neither did it reduce my anxiety. In fact, since that first attack, I would have intense anxiety attacks that would drain my energy and take the fun out of everything I did.
I already had few friends, and now that I know there was something wrong with me, I lost all confidence in making new friends. I had always been a cautious person, and accustomed to rejection, and I honestly believed that I would die alone. However, from the time I was diagnosed, a flicker of hope was ignited, and I promised myself that I would do whatever was needed to rid myself of this crippling condition. My journey to recovery, from the time I was diagnosed to the time Panic Away worked for me, took a total of 4 years. It would have been way faster had I found panic away first.
Treatment for my condition began as soon as a diagnosis was made, and I have in those 4 years, I took more pills than a normal person would take their whole life. If a medication did not improve my condition within a month, I would quickly move on to the next one. This continued until I finally gave up on medication and decided to find another alternative. I did thorough research on GAD and how it could be managed, and the things I learned actually helped. However, what I really wanted was a cure, and in my quest for a permanent solution, I finally came across Panic Away amongst many other so-called cures. Panic Away isn’t the end all and be all for panic attacks however. Like I said, I have been having panic attacks for many years and throughout those years I have learned a lot of stuff through therapy. But in conjunction with what I had learned, Panic Away was that last piece of the puzzle to help cure my disorder.
